The 3rd EEMI International Sustainable Housing Finance Symposium was held in Venice the 4th October 2024, attended by over 90 people and representatives of European and International Institutions, including the European Commission (DG ENER), OECD, Bank of Italy, Spanish Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Wharton School – Pennsylvania University. The expert speakers shared powerful insights on the future of green and affordable housing. You can find here the presentations from our keynote speakers:
– Eduardo Antunes from European Commission highlighted the role of the European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition in driving energy-efficient investments.
– Luiz de Mello from OECD elaborated on how policies can enhance the sustainability and affordability of housing across Europe and beyond.
– Marja Hoek-Smit from The Wharton School, Pennsylvania University delved into the challenge of measuring progress in improving green, social and sustainable housing.
– Jacobo Llerena Iglesias from the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition provided a compelling case study based on Spain’s efforts to accelerate the transition towards sustainable housing.
– Valeria Lionetti from Banca d’Italia shared insights into the growth potential of Italy’s green mortgage market, highlighting key trends and future opportunities.
– During this event the new EU-funded project DeliverEEM was presented. The project intends to respond to the challenge of green goals by further increasing and accelerating the allocation of private financing to energy efficiency investments through an innovative and integrated ecosystem of energy efficiency mortgages (EEM).
