Brussels, 22 October 2020 – For immediate release
The Energy Efficient Mortgages Initiative (EEMI) is delighted to announce that iNudgeyou has joined the Energy Efficient Mortgages Pilot Scheme as a supporting organisation. iNudgeYou is a key player in the creation of an EEMI Nordic Market Hub aimed at designing a new market paradigm for energy efficient mortgage products in the Nordics.
The EEMI aims at delivering a mortgage financing mechanism, according to which borrowers are incentivised to improve the energy efficiency of their properties or to acquire highly energy efficient properties, by way of favourable financial conditions linked to the mortgage. The objective of the Initiative is to stimulate and finance investment in energy efficient buildings and energy saving renovations, in this way, help to secure a greener and more sustainable future for all.
It consists of three parallel projects, the “Energy efficient Mortgages Action Plan” (EeMAP), the “Energy Efficient Data Protocol and Portal” (EeDaPP) and the “Energy Efficient Mortgage Market Implementation Plan” (EeMMIP) and is funded via the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Programme.
Luca Bertalot, Energy Efficient Mortgages Initiative Coordinator, commented:
“It is with pleasure that we welcome iNudgeYou as a new member of the EEMI. As a consultancy firm specialised in behavioural research, iNudgeYou not only brings with it significant experience in the implementation of public policies, enabling us to enlarge the boundaries within which we operate, but their membership also presents an invaluable opportunity to explore innovative ways of engaging consumers in sustainable finance and energy saving. This experience and expertise will be of benefit to all EEMI partners and stakeholders and provide insightful and stimulating knowledge sharing.”
Jossi Steen-Knudsen, COO of iNudgeyou stated:
“We are happy to be part of such an important initiative. There are many behavioural barriers needed to be addressed to accelerate the green transition, and we look forward to contributing in doing so.”
